Selcuk is a central town located in the Izmir Province, and just 3km northeast of the ancient city of Ephesus which was built around 6000 BC , Selcuk has a small population of just over 23,000, however remains one of the most visited places in Turkey. Selcuk is the nearest town to the Ephesus ruins, Temple of Artemis, St. John’s Basilica and the Virgin Mary’s House.

An other important place is House of Mary Mother, on the mountain next to Ephesus. The distance between Ephesus and Mary Mother is 6 Km. (Up hill ) You can take a taxi to up there because there is no bus goes.
Also, you can see Temple of Artemis which was one of the seven wonders in the world. |
